Thejakartatimes – After traveling through the air route using the Presidential plane of Indonesia-1, President Joko Widodo (Jokowi), accompanied by First Lady Iriana Joko Widodo, arrived at Cox’s Bazar Airport, Bangladesh, at around 12:40 local time or 13:40 pm.
The arrival of President and Mrs. Iriana was immediately welcomed by Deputy Commissioner MD. Ali Hossain, Superintendent of Police (SP) Dr. AKM Iqbal Hossain, and Expert Staff of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia for Institutional Affairs Salman Al Farisi.
President and Mrs. Iriana first get an explanation given by Cox’s Deputy Commissioner Bazar Ali Hossain regarding the handling of Rakhine State refugees at Refugee Camp.
The explanation was delivered in one of the VIP Room located at Cox’s Bazar Airport, Bangladesh.
Afterwards, the President and Mrs. Iriana along with a restricted entourage traveled 70km Jokowi for an hour by land by car to Kamp Jamtoli, one of the refugee shelters of the Rakhine State in Bangladesh.
Along the way, the people of Cox’s Bazar welcomed the arrival of President Jokowi. Even some residents could capture the moment through their devices.
Accompanying President and Mrs. Iriana during this visit were Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi, Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung, Special Staff Coordinator Teten Masduki, and Indonesian Ambassador to Bangladesh Rina Soemarno. (Thejakartatimes/EOS/Source: Setkab)
