Thejakartatimes – The Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) together with Political Parties held a “Declaration of Reject and Fight Money Politics and Sara’s Politicization for Regional Elections 2018 Integrity” at Royal Kuningan Hotel, South Jakarta, Saturday (10/2/2018).
“This joint commitment is key for all of us to jointly create every phase of the 2018 election free from the influence of transactional politics and the use of sara in the election campaign,” said Chairman Bawaslu Abhan in his speech.
The use of money politics and sara campaigns is also an obstacle in realizing a qualified elections.
“Sara’s politicization has the potential to disrupt the unity within the unitary state of Indonesia,” said the former Chairman of Bawaslu Central Java.
He said as the organizer of the General Elections, Bawaslu is committed and responsible to ensure the integrity of Pilkada.
“Embodied by inviting all parties including political parties,” said Abhan.
Democrat Party Secretary General Hinca Pandjaitan welcomed the declaration.
Hinca said the Democratic Party far earlier had also committed the opposite of money politics and sara issues.
“Millions of cadres from East to West enjoy this feast of democracy happily without money politics without sara politics We strongly reject the politics of money and sara From the beginning we will follow up cadres (which are proven money and sara politics) because we have the fact of integrity” said Hinca.
The declaration was also attended by Minister of Home Affairs Tjahjo Kumolo.
This PDIP politician says the Government fully believes that the KPU, Bawaslu, political parties and TNI and Polri have understood how to keep the upcoming electoral neutralization.
“The government is optimistic that all political parties have understood this, the government believes fully in the election organizer KPU, Bawaslu supervised PKPU, believe in political parties, believe the commander of TNI neutrality also to the police,” said Tjahjo.
